Video: Socialism For Democrats Parts 1 & 2

"How do you tell a communist? Well, it's someone who reads Marx and Lenin. And how do you tell an anti-Communist? It's someone who understands Marx and Lenin." Ronald Reagan

These were some talks from a few years ago extolling the wonders of Socialism and communism. Often times it’s is very useful to see what the enemies of freedom are saying: Part 1

Part 2:

Please note that the professor wastes a great deal of time discussing nothing of value with a fair amount of repetition. These are some of the points I’ve been able to extract from these interminable lectures.

He spends the first 10 minutes complaining about the organized evil that is socialism being demonized. Go figure, here we have an ideology that has brutally oppressed billions of people and has murdered 100 million more and intelligent people seem to have a problem with it.

- He sets up a strawman argument of sorts using the Marxist pejorative instead of for the free-market or economic freedom. This is the presumption that those advocated freedom have made some very fanciful promises

- The primary difference between Socialism and Communism is how one reaches the goal of taking over the government. Its’ the difference between evolutionary socialism and revolutionary socialism

- Apparently the goal of socialism is to take over the government and then have it ‘wither away’ with the worker’s in control of the means of production. Except this never seems to happen…

Example: the professor in this series condemns Stalin for not making this step but neglects to do the same with regard to Lenin who had ten years to accomplish the goal and did not.
